It is believed the Chilean international will move to the Nou Camp for around £27million.
Respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter that there is a “total agreement” for the player to join Barcelona and that it is a “done deal”.
The Chilean midfielder, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in the past, is believed to have been made available by the German giants.
SunSport previously reported how the player’s nine-year-old son reportedly told followers on social media that his dad will move to either Barca or Inter Milan.

Vidal has enjoyed a hugely-successful career since leaving Colo-Colo in his homeland 11 years ago.
The 31-year-old has won the title in each of his last seven seasons at Juve and Bayern.
But a number of recent injury problems are believed to have persuaded the Bundesliga side to seek a more reliable replacement.
Romano reported earlier today that the 31-year-old midfielder had met Barcelona officials last week, and is expected to fly out to Spain for a medical imminently.
