Everton boss Marco Silva has confirmed he wants to sign Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne.
And he is a planning a double raid on the La Liga champions with centre-back Yerry Mina also in his sights.
Silva is desperate to bolster his depleted back four before the start of the season.
His concerns over his defence were further confirmed following a eye-opening 3-0 friendly defeat against Blackburn earlier this week.
The Portuguese manager witnessed the weaknesses in his side with experienced defender Phil Jagielka worryingly barged off the ball all too easily for Blackburn’s third.
And he wants to waste no time addressing the issues.
Reported by publication Sport, Silva said: “Digne is not at our club, I know it won’t be easy but we will try.
“At the moment we have two possibilities, I will not deny it. Digne is not at the club he is at by luck.”
Digne has struggled to break into Barca’s first-team last season making just eight league starts.
His club team-mate Mina is thought to be up for sale following a dreadful debut season for the Catalan giants.
