MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly had a £60million bid rejected for Milan Skriniar.
The Inter Milan star is one of Jose Mourinho’s top targets as he attempts to bolster his backline.
But the Red Devils suffered a blow in their pursuit of the defender after the Serie A outfit turned down their offer, according to La Gazetta dello Sport.
United’s opening effort may have been rebuffed, but the Premier League giants could return with a higher amount in the coming days.
Skriniar, 23, has shone since his arrival at the San Siro from Sampdoria in 2016.
He had a stellar campaign last season as he helped Inter to a fourth-placed finish.
But his performances have also caught the attention of several others.
Man City, Liverpool and Barcelona are all known to have registered their interest in the Slovakian.
However, Skriniar appears to be in no rush to depart, saying recently: “The transfer market?
“I don’t know the market and I don’t even talk about it, maybe Barcelona or other clubs are interested in me, but again, I’m not interested in this.”
