First Joe Hart, then Pablo Zabaleta, now possibly Yaya Toure.
West Ham seem set on building their squad around Man City’s of 2011.
The Ivorian midfielder could join his former team-mates in east London if Manuel Pellegrini is named as the Hammers’ new gaffer.
Pellegrini is set to be appointed as David Moyes’ replacement at some point in the next two days.
And the Telegraph claim his relationship with Toure will boost West Ham’s chances of landing him, despite his famously high wage demands.
The 35-year-old is a free agent having seen out his contract at City at the end of the most recent season.
West Ham have reportedly already held talks with the former Barcelona star but were put off by his financial demands.
However, Pellegrini, who won the Premier League with Toure in 2014, may have more success in negotiations.
Pep Guardiola called time on Toure’s eight-year Etihad residency, in which he won three league titles, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
The Spaniard insists he still has what it takes to succeed in the top-flight.
Guardiola said: “I am not the right guy to say to him what is the best. He will choose.
“I think he has still the desire to play. He loves to play football. He likes the game and he enjoys the training sessions, especially with the ball.
“My advice, if he still has desire to play, he has to continue. If you have doubt, you have to retire, it is over.”
