Here’s a friendly reminder that Phil Jones has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup.
That’s pretty terrifying, when you think about it.
Starting for Man United in their FA Cup final clash with Chelsea this evening, the defender has completely sh*t himself against Eden Hazard so far.
The winger has run riot, going close to scoring after just nine minutes when Jones gave the ball away to Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The midfielder picked out the surging run of Hazard, who forced David De Gea to save at his near post.
And then just minutes later, Jones was once again caught out by Hazard and this time hauled the Belgian down in the penalty area – leaving referee Michael Oliver no choice but to point to the spot.
Hazard then converted the resulting penalty to make it 1-0 to the Blues.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has clearly earmarked Jones as United’s weak link and has taking full advantage of him being utterly useless.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t start for England when they play against Belgium in their World Cup group game, as we reckon Hazard could cause absolute carnage in that one.
