PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Angel Di Maria is keen on a move to Barcelona after a proposed transfer fell apart last summer, according to reports in Spain.
Barca tried to snap up the Argentine, 30, after selling Neymar to the Ligue 1 giants in a £198m deal, before the switch collapsed.
The Spaniards instead turned to Ousmane Dembele but could now go back in for Di Maria as PSG fight to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
Di Maria has also been tipped with a move to Atletico Madrid in recent weeks – but the player himself is said to favour a Nou Camp switch.
It is reported the Rojiblancos are intrigued by the proposition as they look to replace Barcelona-bound Antoine Griezmann.
Di Maria knows his first team chances are limited in France with Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar forming such a lethal front three.
But Barcelona remains the No1 option, with Di Maria revealing earlier this year: “I was very close to Barcelona, but because of the football things it could not be done.”
Di Maria went on to explain it was in no small part thanks to the lure of Lionel Messi, as he added: “Messi is always the best, every year is the best.
“There are no words to describe Leo. It always surprises you.”
Di Maria also hinted he knows his time at PSG is up, this month saying: “I am happy here, but the club needs to bring in players and, for that, they have to sell other players.”
