Real Sociedad will honour club legend Xabi Prieto by replacing their club crest with his face.
The 34-year-old has spent his entire career with the Spanish club but will retire from football after the final game of the season against Leganes.
He has played in more than 530 matches for the club since joining as a youngster in 2000.
A statement from the club read: “A historical example deserves a historic gesture,
“Xabi has always played for the badge, therefore in his last game at Anoeta [Stadium], Real Sociedad will take him for a day as the badge”.
There is one slight problem in that Prieto remains a serious doubt for the clash as he battles to overcome a hernia.
Prieto has played across all four divisions for the club, representing their reserve and first team.
The veteran midfielder is fifth in the club’s record all-time appearances and has netted 80 goals throughout his career.
His team-mate Carlos Martinez, who has also played for the club his entire career, will be playing in his final game.
Real Sociedad sit 11th in La Liga but could move up to ninth with a win.
