Other clubs have already approached West Brom as they brace themselves for a fire sale should they go down.

Rondon, Nacer Chadli, Jay Rodriguez, James McClean, Craig Dawson and Jonny Evans are among the players attracting interest.

And it could be that Albion struggle to achieve top dollar for those players without buy-on clauses.

Chris Brunt and  Ben Foster are staying, though.

As for caretaker-manager Darren Moore, he has picked up 11 points in five unbeaten games in charge.

His latest triumph saw Jake Livermore’s last gasp goal beat Tottenham.

Even so, it seems despite Moore’s amazing bid to stake a claim for the job full-time.

Brentford’s Dean Smith and Michael Appleton at Leicester City remain the front-runners.
