Hector Bellerin’s fall from grace has been pretty dramatic.
A couple of seasons ago he was the most sought after right back in the world and one of the first names on the Arsenal team sheet.
Fast forward to now and he’s a pariah accused of promoting his modelling career and guilty of arrogance and naivety.
And that was really in evidence against Atletico Madrid tonight.
In their crunch Europa League semi-final clash in Spain, Bellerin was badly caught napping for Atletico’s crucial goal.
Arsenal lost possession in their own half but Bellerin was too slow to react, allowing Diego Costa to sneak in ahead of him.
The right back was then completely out muscled by the former Chelsea man who tucked past David Ospina.
None of Arsenal’s players were particularly impressive on the night, but Bellerin was probably the worst.
And Gunners’ fans – as they always do – didn’t hold back on social media as Arsene Wenger’s hopes of a dream ending to his tenure went up in flames.
Considering his run ins with Arsenal Fan TV this season it’s probably safe to say he isn’t the most popular man in north London…
