David Silva posted a heartfelt tweet after Man City were crowned as the Premier League champions.
The 32-year-old took the chance to reflect on his “special” year by uploading a photo with his son, who was born prematurely in December.
Silva had to take time away from City earlier this season to spend time with his family and new-born son Mateo.
His child was tragically left fighting for his life after being born prematurely in Valencia.
And he shared a photo with Mateo after City claimed the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon.
The tweet read: “My 3rd league but this one is the most special.
“Thanks to everyone for supporting me in this tough year.”
Silva, who has been nominated for this year’s PFA Player of the Year, was holding his child while wearing a hospital gown in the photo.
He also won the top flight title with the Citizens in 2011/12 and 2013/14.
Silva’s team-mates Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker turned to Twitter to celebrate on Sunday.
Despite have another remarkable season for the Blues, the 32-year-old could play a lesser role for City next term.
Pep Guardiola is planning to introduce rest spells in order to get the most out of the Spanish star.
