But Galaxy produced a second-half comeback to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, with Ibra’s introduction the spark.

The ex-Man United striker came on in the 71st minute with Galaxy trailing 3-1 – and it didn’t take long for him to leave his mark on the American game:

LAFC were only playing their third-ever MLS game after being created in time for the new season.

But Ibrahimovic wasn’t to be denied.

After his truly speechless equaliser, the 36-year-old looped a header home in injury time to snatch a stunning three points.

And it continued his impeccable scoring record on debut, adding the MLS to goals on his Champions League, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Premier League bows.
