Death, taxes and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring on debut.
There’s your three certainties in life.
But his LA Galaxy bow may just be the pick of the lot after the Swedish great inspired a truly remarkable comeback.
In the first ever LA derby against LAFC, Ibrahimovic watched his new side fall 3-0 behind from the substitutes bench.
But Galaxy produced a second-half comeback to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, with Ibra’s introduction the spark.
The ex-Man United striker came on in the 71st minute with Galaxy trailing 3-1 – and it didn’t take long for him to leave his mark on the American game:
I mean, come on?
LAFC were only playing their third-ever MLS game after being created in time for the new season.
And Ibra was very nearly outshone by former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela, with the diminutive Mexican striker scoring twice for the visitors.
But Ibrahimovic wasn’t to be denied.
After his truly speechless equaliser, the 36-year-old looped a header home in injury time to snatch a stunning three points.
And it continued his impeccable scoring record on debut, adding the MLS to goals on his Champions League, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Premier League bows.
