Man United are reportedly considering handing out song-sheets in a bid to improve the Old Trafford atmosphere.

It’s safe to say that it has been an indifferent season for United and boss Jose Mourinho – and it could be about to get a whole lot worse.

The Special One hasn’t held back on his criticism of the noise levels inside the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

He branded it “quiet” following their 2-0 win against Huddersfield and slammed it in comparison to Portsmouth’s Fratton Park.

However, the club’s proposals to address the issue are surely not the right solution.

The Times are reporting that club chiefs have hatched a genius plan to get the United faithful making lots of voice.

Those of a squeamish disposition, look away now.

They want to hand supporters sheets with lyrics to their chants on them as they enter Old Trafford.

*Shudders*

Another option they are said to be looking at is putting the songs in the matchday programme and on the club website so fans know the words.

Fear not though United fans, for there is still hope!

Plans will not be enforced anytime soon, with United set to hold a survey among fans at the end of the season to gather opinion.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust replied to Mourinho’s comments after Alexis Sanchez’s home debut against Huddersfield last month.

Some suggestions included dropping the ticket prices and getting more young supporters to the games to add to noise levels.

Mourinho was also reported to have met with chief executive Ed Woodward to discuss the issue.
