Sometimes you just have to sit back and appreciate greatness.
It doesn’t come around very often but Mohamed Salah’s performance against Watford yesterday was simply stunning.
The Egyptian scored four goals and set one up for Firmino and there was a moment in his hat-trick goal that proved he plays the game on a different level.
Only someone in the Lionel Messi bracket of player would have been able to lead three Watford defenders in circles before slotting home.
And one touch during the dribble proved that Salah is a footballing genius.
He took Abdoulaye Doucoure, Adrian Marriapa and Sebastian Prodl right first, before cutting back onto his wand of a left foot.
Every one of the Watford defenders then assumed he was going to stroke the ball home with his left.
But what Salah did next shows that he is an absolute footballing genius.
He used his right foot to nudge the ball six inches further across his body.
And while it might not seem like a momentous moment, it meant that the outstretched legs of the Hornets players swiped thin air as they tried to block the shot.
After he’d shifted the ball away from the the flying legs he then had the coolness of mind to prod it past the keeper and into the bottom corner.
Hat-trick secured and status as the Premier League’s best player officially confirmed.
Is there anything else you would rather spend £37million on if you owned a football club?
No, me neither.
