The Barcelona maestro put to bed that urban myth with a pivotal goal in the first leg at Stamford Bridge – and he’s at it again in the second leg.

It took Messi just over two minutes to put Barca in front of the night, combining with Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez before squeezing the ball in from a tight angle.

Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois won’t be happy with his role in the goal, letting the ball through his legs far too easily.

And eagle-eyed Reddit users were quick to spot the similarities with another time Messi beat Courtois seven years ago.

Back in September 2011, Courtois was making a name for himself at Atletico Madrid but was on the wrong end of a Messi and Barcelona masterclass at the Nou Camp.

Messi capped a thumping 5-0 win by again arrowing a strike from an incredibly tight angle through Courtois’ legs.

It looks like the Belgian stopper hasn’t learned his lesson.

Messi was fully in the groove against the Blues, following up his opener with a brilliant assist for Ousmane Dembele who made it 2-0 with his first ever Barca goal.
