As a result Carragher was unsurprisingly dropped from the Monday Night Football line up as Stoke took on league leaders Man City.
And wasn’t Gary Neville truly miserable about it.
Neville, usually paired with Carragher to take apart the weekend’s action, looked visibly lost and deflated without his partner in crime.

Despite the incessant banter and jibes they share Neville was quick to jump Carragher’s support today after the former Liverpool defender’s day from hell.
Carragher has apologised after a distressed 14-year-old girl was caught up in the exchange with her goading father.
GNev took to Twitter, stating that in his opinion “this isolated incident shouldn’t stop us working together.”
Monday Night Football’s preview section was indeed shortened from an hour to half an hour in the wake of Carragher’s suspension.
There’s no denying Neville sorely missed him.
