Back in September Sadio Mane was quite rightly sent off for nearly taking Ederson’s head off during Liverpool’s 5-0 loss to Man City.
But today the shoe was on the other foot.
Well, actually, Antonio Valencia’s foot was on Mane’s chest.
Valencia caught Mane but was only booked by referee Craig Pawson.
It wasn’t as high or uncontrolled as Mane’s challenge on Ederson, but that didn’t stop fans kicking off.
Over to you, Twitter.
For every Tweet saying Valencia should have been sent off there was a response by a United fan claiming the ref got it spot on.
However, a quick trip over to Pawson’s Wikipedia told you everything you needed to know about Liverpool fans’ views on his performance.
Please note, Wikipedia vandals are known to operate in this area.
Pawson also came under heat for not sending Marcus Rashford off.
Rashford was booked for a challenge on James Milner but wasn’t carded for several other moments of ill-discipline.
But given one of those moments was running into the crowd to celebrate a screamer we’ll let him off.
Who would want to be a ref?
