Yerry Mina’s reaction to scoring during penalty shootout proves he’s a bit of a hero

Yerry Mina scored during Barcelona's penalty shootout win against Espanyol in the Catalan Super Cup

Yerry Mina has only played two official games for Barcelona since arriving from Palmeiras in January.

But that hasn’t stopped him establishing a reputation as a bit of a cult hero at the Nou Camp.

For a start he was named after Tom and Jerry, meaning that he’ll complete a very satisfying story if he plays next to Thomas Vermaelen.

Between completing his Barcelona unveiling in bare feet and taking the squad number previously worn by Carles Puyol, Andres Iniesta and Yaya Toure it seems Mina is destined for greatness.

So there was no surprise when he had a special celebration in the locker after scoring during the Catalan Super Cup against Espanyol.

The game went to penalties after a 0-0 draw, with Mina slotting during Barcelona’s eventual win.

After hitting the back of the net, Mina responded in the only way he knows how.

Ice cold.

Mina should be a part of Colombia’s 2018 World Cup plans, where he’ll no doubt show similar nonchalance in the face of pressure that would make most of us melt.

We can’t wait to see what he does if he ever scores in a Champions League final.
