But let’s not focus on Messi for a second. Let’s pay homage to those that helped him get there. No fewer than 57 players have assisted Messi for club and country.
It’s an incredible list of players, with Dani Alves at the top, followed by Andres Iniesta, Xavi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Juan Roman Riquelme… we could go on.
But we’re not interested in them. Their stories are already known.
We want to talk about the players who have assisted Messi on just one occasion.
