Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere slams refereeing decisions in Carabao Cup final embarrassment

The Gunners star claimed two of Manchester City's goals should not have been allowed and they should have had a player sent off

Jack Wilshere slammed referee Craig Pawson after Arsenal’s 3-0 Carabao Cup final loss — claiming TWO goals should not have stood and Manchester City should have had a man sent off.

The Gunners were roundly criticised for their lack of fight against the Prem leaders as the gulf in class between the two sides was put on display.

Sergio Aguero got in behind Shkodran Mustafi to score the first while Vincent Kompany steered home past offside team-mate Leroy Sane who was deemed to not be interfering with play.

And Wilshere also pointed out that he believes Fernandinho should should have been dismissed in the first half for two yellow card offences.

Wilshere, 26, posted: “Hard to put into words my emotions about yesterday. City are a good team and deserved to win yesterday.

“That being said i can’t accept some of the decisions that went against us yesterday. What ever you say about the first goal, its a foul.

“The second goal is offside. There should have been a second yellow in the first half. Yes this happens in football but its still hard to accept.

“And people will say we are looking for excuses but these are facts. Anyway we need to respond, starting on thursday.
