There was a mild sense of competition in the first half until Arsenal’s schoolboy defending allowed Claudio Bravo to assist Sergio Aguero for the first goal.
It might feel like a lifetime ago but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a brilliant Kyle Walker tackle from tapping in from two yards out inside the first 10 minutes.
However, after Pep Guardiola’s team took the lead all the life seemed to drain out of Arsenal until the final minutes when they were just shadows of themselves chasing City shadows.
