Anthony Martial contract talks breakdown with Jose Mourinho on the warpath

Jose Mourinho appears to have fallen out with the French star and Man United have not yet offered him a contract extension

As Paul Pogba will tell you it’s never a good idea to get on the wrong side of Jose Mourinho.

The £89million midfielder had to start the midweek Champions League game on the bench after falling out with his boss.

And now it looks like another of Man United’s French contingent could be suffering the wrath of the manager.

According to reports in France, Anthony Martial has not been offered a contract extension and the talks over a new deal have broken down.

There it is, stage two in Mourinho’s plan to dismantle United’s squad.

Martial has started just one of United’s last four games and there has been talk all season that Mourinho does not totally trust the French winger.

RMCSport’s Mohamed Bouhfasi has reported that the contract talks have stalled and there has been no offer since Martial’s representatives last met the club in December.

According to the reports Martial has also held off on buying a house in Manchester with his future up in the air.

It all leads to Arsenal making a ridiculously low bid for the 22-year-old in the summer before he goes to PSG.

With the attacking talents that Mourinho has at his disposal at Old Trafford, with Martial, Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, the Red Devils should be playing much more entertaining football this season.

But with the ‘Boring One’ in charge the stars have been shackled as they carry out directions to shut games down.

If United let Martial slip through their grip by not tying him down to a new contract they could rue the decision for years.
