Romelu Lukaku’s record against the Premier League’s top eight this season is SERIOUSLY bad

The stats behind the Manchester United striker's form against the league's best teams makes for some grim reading

It’s fair to say that Romelu Lukaku’s spell at Manchester United has been relatively hot and cold so far.

He’s managed to net 12 goals in the Premier League this season with recent strikes coming against Huddersfield and Stoke, while he’s notched at the Terriers as well as against lower league sides Yeovil and Derby in the FA Cup.

But he’s failed to score against ANY of the Premier League’s current top eight.

And it’s not through lack of trying, having played 900 minutes against them, attempting 17 shots in the process.

That’s pretty freakin’ poor, right?

He has, however, managed goals in the Champions League, netting against Basel and CSKA.

He also scored against Real Madrid during pre-season, so there’s that.

Even so, he remains the most picked player on Dream Team this season, with 48% of fantasy football managers opting for the Belgian in their team.

He’s been pretty alright on the game too, currently sat eighth in the standings with 198 points, although he’s some way off the likes of Mohamed Salah (281) and Harry Kane (314).
