Real Madrid could renew their interest in Raheem Sterling as he awaits talks on a new Manchester City contract, according to reports.
The England winger has been one of City’s stand-out players in their highly successful league campaign this season with 20 goals.
Sterling is believed to be willing to start negotiations to improve his £180,000-a-week wages but talks have yet to materialise, reports the Daily Mail.
He is expected to earn a further pay rise having been instrumental in City’s blistering form this season.
Fellow first-team stars Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva have both extended their contracts in recent months.
And Sterling won’t be short of options if he fails to to pen to paper in the near future.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has already shared his admiration for the 23-year-old and admitted they were monitoring his situation at Liverpool.
Back in 2015, he said: “We know who Raheem Sterling is, and of course we are monitoring him as a player.
“It is going to make sense we monitor the progress of the best young players in the world.”
Sterling refused to commit to Liverpool despite being offered a new bumper wage and eventually earned his move to Man City three years ago.
Whether or not Zidane still has his eye on him could become apparent in the next few months.
