JACK BUTLAND is a £40million target for Liverpool and Arsenal.
Kop boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to make Butland his No 1 next season.
But the Stoke keeper is also wanted by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to replace 35-year-old Petr Cech.
The two clubs will go head to head in the summer to land the England goalkeeper, who has made no secret of his ambition to play at the highest level.
Klopp has axed Simon Mignolet as his No1 and the Belgian is ready to quit Anfield after showdown talks with his boss last month.
Loris Karius has been in goal for Premier League games since New Year’s Day but there have been doubts about the German too.
Butland, 24, is expected to be competing for the England No 1 jersey in years to come and has already proven himself at top-flight level.
He returned from a serious ankle injury and was playing at the end of last season, while this campaign he has missed just three Prem games.
Arsenal’s Cech is 36 this season. He has another season on his contract but Wenger knows the four-times title winner with Chelsea cannot play forever.
Klopp is also ready to go for Deportivo La Coruna forward Pinchi, 22, this summer.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and will move for a small compensation fee to his Spanish club.
Klopp is looking to bolster an attack that has lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and Pinchi is a low-risk investment.
Manchester United and Tottenham have also shown interest in the youngster, who has been playing for Deportivo’s second team.
