Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s blistering return to form officially lasted a grand total of one game.
That’s according to the majority of social media after the Armenian’s abject display against Spurs in the north London derby.
Many punters – myself included – felt Mkhitaryan’s hat-trick of assists on his home Arsenal debut against Everton last week was proof the move from Manchester United would pay off.
But just a week later the midfielder was the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons again.
Mkhitaryan was marginalised by Jose Mourinho in his last few months at Old Trafford after a torrid run of form.
And he was at it again at Wembley, failing to build on that brilliant performance against the Toffees.
He was duly substituted in the 64th minute after consistently giving the ball away, replaced instead by Alexandre Lacazette.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter didn’t hold back with a savage take down of Mkhitaryan’s efforts:
