Napoli, like Monaco last term, may see their phenomenal domestic success this season come back to bite them.
Because if they do hold onto pip Juventus to the Serie A title their brilliant squad is likely to be targeted by Europe’s heavyweights in the summer.
And the interest is already there.
Classy midfielder Jorginho is a target for both Manchester clubs this summer after developing into one of the finest players in his position in Italy.
But his agent has moved to quash any rumours of a move this summer – because his client is ‘happy’ and ‘it rains too often’ in Manchester.
Joao Santos told Radio CRC: “Jorginho is fine, he’s always at Napoli’s disposal.
“He’s fine with [Maurizio] Sarri, he plays his role and he’s happy.
“The contract isn’t expiring any time soon, there’s time. He’s happy in Naples, Jorginho is happy and the city is very beautiful.”
“Manchester United and Manchester City? When you’re playing for the Serie A leaders it’s only logical that important teams will ask for updates: for example on the length of the contract,” he added.
“I’m glad to come here [to Naples] too, it’s a very Brazilian climate. In Manchester it rains too often!”
Still not quite as damning a condemnation as former City striker Nolito blasted about Manchester, who claimed his daughter’s ‘face had changed colour’ and it looked like ‘living in a cave.’
A bit like Phil Jones, then.
