Riyad Mahrez is still sulking, apparently.
The Leicester star has been absent from training ever since Manchester City made a desperate bid to sign him on January’s transfer deadline day.
The two clubs failed to agree on a deal for the Algerian, with the Foxes reportedly rejecting a £50 million plus player offer (which later turned out to be Celtic loanee Patrick Roberts) from the table-toppers.
It seems they wanted at least £80m in cash, instead.
Mahrez has been very upset ever since, believing Leicester are blocking his long-held desire to seek a new challenge at a Champions League club.
As well as missing training, he’s been absent from Leicester’s last two match-day squads; in the defeat to Everton and the weekend draw to Swansea.
And former Blackburn and Celtic striker Chris Sutton thinks the 26-year-old should just get on with it.
Speaking via BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, he said: “He’s a big baby isn’t he?
“Leicester have put him on the map.
“He’s disappointed not to go to a bigger club, I understand that, but he has to see out his contract – so get on with it.
“He is letting his managers and his team-mates down.”
The midfielder, who was a key to Leicester’s title success two years ago, has notched 35 goals and 24 assists in 127 Prem appearances for the Foxes.
His brilliance in recent seasons has meant he’s frequently been linked with a move away from the club, with Serie A giants Roma heavily linked with him over the summer.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all eyed him in the past too.
