Swedish TV went into minute detail about a Crystal Palace pitch invader

Swedish football channel Viasat took apart a pitch invader being brutally tackled during Crystal Palace v Newcastle

There wasn’t too much quality play to analyse between Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

But one Swedish TV channel found an innovative way to fill airtime.

Viasat used the NFL Super Bowl as an excuse to professionally pick apart a steward’s take down of a pitch invader.

It’s a stunning piece of play by the steward in question.

He sprints out to meet his man early, gets himself set and executes the tackle to perfection.

Top work.

Viasat enthused: “With the Superbowl coming up our best example of a tackle is from Selhurst Park earlier today.

“We’re going to analyse a tackle here, is the opponent going to go left or right?

“He needs good boots there to predict and get the tackle in. Dedicated, composed, strong.

“I thought the tackle was a bit high but he got the tackle in and that’s what’s most important.”

While the steward will get, at the very least, a pat on the back and 15 minutes of viral fame, the pitch invader will probably get a stadium ban.

So was it worth it?

Probably not.
