Arsenal could be preparing a summer swoop for Jan Oblak, according to reports.
The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Petr Cech at the Emirates.
Arsenal are expected to scout various goalkeepers including Oblak, reports the London Evening Standard.
But the Gunners will be among a number of European sides that will be scrambling for the 25-year-old’s signature.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that he will be hoping to sign him during the summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper remains under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2021 after joining from Benfica in 2014.
Paris-Saint Germain have also indicated their interest in the 25-year-old.
Oblak’s contract includes a release clause of £89m and has confirmed that he is yet to have talks with the La Liga side about a new deal.
Arsenal’s dire need for a goalkeeper was highlighted as Cech made another huge error during Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat to Swansea.
After receiving a backpass, the ex-Chelsea stopper miskicked the ball straight into the path of Jordan Ayew, who buried the ball into the open net.
Following the fixture, Cech tweeted: “Although mistakes are part of the game I always expect 100 per cent from myself and I’m not happy with the one I made today… back to work tomorrow!”
Second choice goalkeeper David Ospina is also set to leave the club.
