Jorginho was the subject of praise from Pep Guardiola after the clash with Manchester City in the Champions League.
However, it appears United have made the first move.
Brazilian-born Jorginho officially switch allegiance to Italy in 2017 and only made his competitive debut in the fateful 0-0 draw with Sweden, which cost the Azzurri a place at the World Cup finals in Russia.
Many cited former manager Gian Piero Ventura’s reluctance to use the midfield ace as one of the primary reasons of the failure.
The deep-lying Jorginho would slot in perfectly alongside Nemanja Matic in Mourinho’s system, allowing Paul Pogba the freedom to move further forward.
