We know it’s early in the morning but this one is going to require a bit of getting your head around.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s transfer has hit a deadlock. Essentially Aubameyang is a bus stuck in the middle of central London at rush hour.
But what’s causing the delay?
This is where you need to concentrate.
So originally Olivier Giroud was keen to join Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Aubameyang. All very straightforward.
Then Chelsea got involved and turned Giroud’s head.
The only issue was that Chelsea weren’t prepared to pay the transfer fee required to take Giroud from Arsenal.
So we’re back at square one.
But then a bright spark at Chelsea had the idea of swapping Michy Batshuayi for Spurs striker Fernando Llorente, thereby leaving Giroud free to join Dortmund.
Still with us?
However obviously all these deals take time which is at a premium with less than two days to go before the transfer window shuts.
So Arsenal are now reliant on Spurs to help them out in their pursuit of a world-class striker.
What could possibly go wrong?
