The Algeria full-back has also been tracked by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola since he impressed at the Etihad in the Champions League in October.

Ghoulam signed a new five-year contract at the Stadio San Paolo just last month.

Ghoulam has scored twice and created three more goals for his teammates before suffering a cruciate ligament injury against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Last week, the Algerian was named Algeria Footballer of 2017 by captains, managers and president of the country’s top-flight clubs.

Arguably Africa’s finest left-back, Ghoulam made a series of exceptional performances with Napoli in both Serie A, where the club went 14 games unbeaten at the start of this season, and the Champions League in 2017.

Converted full-back Ashley Young has been Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho’s main left-back this season.

Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian can also play in the position.
