TOTTENHAM are reportedly keen on Napoli whizkid Amadou Diawara.

According to CalcioNapoli24 they are ready to spend as much as £33million in order to sign the 20-year-old.

The defensive midfielder has made just seven starts in Serie A and the Champions League this season.

But the Guinean is regarded as one of the best young European prospects.

Diawara is not always an automatic starter but manager Maurizio Sarri are not that keen on parting ways midway through the campaign.

Indeed, reports suggest he is tied down with the Serie A league leaders until 2021.

But Tottenham boss Maurico Pochettino is apparently a big fan and is said to be willing to pull out all the stops to land his man.

Diawara has made 18 appearances for Napoli in 2017/18.

He scored his first senior goal for Napoli from the penalty spot against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Diawara was born in Guinea but he’s been playing football in Italy since 2014.

He is in the process of receiving Italian citizenship.

He first played for Bologna and moved to Napoli for £420,000 in July 2015.
