SOUTHAMPTON are watching Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes but will have to shell out to lure him to St Mary’s, according to reports.
Promes, 26, is keen to try his luck in the Premier League, however the Russian side want £30million, according to Sky Sports.
Any potential deal will smash the current Saints club record purchase of Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina for £18m last summer.
The highly-rated Dutch winger has scored 53 goals in 101 Russian Premier League appearances for Spartak after joining them from FC Twente in August 2014 for a reported £12m.
Promes is under contract in Moscow until June 2021 and played a key role in Spartak’s league title win last season.
And his outstanding performances saw him crowned Russian Premier League footballer of the year for 2017.
Amsterdam-born attacker has 25 caps for Holland, scoring four goals with three of those coming in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Promes featured for the Dutch in the friendly win against Scotland at Pittodrie last November.
He has been linked with a move to Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp compared him to Sadio Mane when his side played Spartak in the Champions League this season.
Klopp said: “He can shoot very quickly and is a proper striker”.
