Man United and Man City are going head to head in another transfer battle

Man United will reportedly rival Man City for the signing of Nice midfielder Jean Seri in the summer

Jose Mourinho’s transfer plans are becoming clear.

Do whatever Pep Guardiola does but just chuck more money at the selling club and player.

It looks to have worked for Alexis Sanchez but the Mourinho and Guardiola tug of war isn’t finishing there.

Both Manchester clubs will go head to head for the signing of Nice midfielder Jean Seri, according to The Guardian.

The Ivory Coast midfielder came close to joining Barcelona last summer only for the Spaniards to pull the plug on the deal.

But that doesn’t look to have put City or United off.

City have reportedly held transfer talks with his agent but the interest of United is likely to inflate Nice’s asking price.

Seri, who’s been capped 16 times by Ivory Coast, started his career with ASEC Mimosas- the academy responsible for producing Yaya and Kolo Toure.

After three years in Portugal with Porto’s B team and Pacos de Ferreira he moved to Nice in 2015, establishing himself as one of Ligue 1’s best midfielders.

The 26-year-old’s ability to play both a holding role and further up the pitch will be a major selling point for Guardiola, given his penchant for playing midfielders in five different positions in the same game.

If Seri wants some advice on what side of Manchester he should choose then he can turn to current team-mate Mario Balotelli.

Actually, given how it all ended for Balotelli at City, it’s probably best not to ask.

Don’t look at the weather reports either, Jean.
