It’s not going well for Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona so far, is it?
The nippy Frenchman has just returned to action for the Catalan giants after a four-month spell out through injury.
And it looks like he faces ANOTHER lengthy spell on the sidelines, after suffering a hamstring injury in the 4-2 win over Real Sociedad at the weekend.
According to a statement on Barcelona’s official website, the France international has injured the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh – which is different to the injury he suffered earlier in the season – and could be out for 3-4 weeks.
The 20-year-old – who joined Barcelona for an eye-watering £96.8 million from Borussia Dortmund back in August – pulled up against Getafe in only his third outing for the club back in September.
He then spent an agonising 110 days out of the side, before making his return as a 72nd substitute in Barca’s Copa del Rey clash against Celta Vigo.
Dembele started three days later against Levante and made substitute appearances in the second-leg against Celta and yesterday evening’s La Liga clash against Sociedad, and has played for just 263 minutes for Barcelona so far.
With the prospect of another month out, does the youngster face a genuine challenge to make France’s World Cup squad this summer?
