Mo Salah has been a revelation this season.
In a fairly uneventful transfer, Liverpool brought him in from Roma for a nominal fee of £35million.
Although his Liverpool career so far has been anything but uneventful.
The Egyptian winger has been arguably the best player in the league this season, jostling with Kevin De Bruyne for top spot.
He is second in the golden boot race on 17 strikes, one goal behind Harry Kane, and also has five assists to his name.
Salah was the lead guitarist in Jurgen Klopp’s pitch-perfect quartet, until Philippe Coutinho left the band to move to Barcelona.
The winger has been in amazing goal scoring form this season and when you compare it Real Madrid’s numbers he looks even more phenomenal.
Salah has scored more league goals than all of Madrid’s best attackers combined this season.
That’s right he’s got more goals than Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Isco and Marco Asensio put together.
Those four brilliant players have only amassed 14 goals between them – three less than Salah’s tally.
Los Blancos have been well below par this season and are already 16 points Barcelona in the race for La Liga.
The league title has realistically already gone to the Nou Camp but Zinedine Zidane will be hoping he can salvage the season, and his job, with a third consecutive Champions League success.
In terms of Liverpool’s prospects, Salah is going to be even more important to Klopp’s team with Coutinho onto pastures new.
However, it will come as no surprise to you that Florentino Perez is reportedly sounding out if he can bring the electric winger to the Bernabeu as a response to Barca’s huge signing.
Sorry Liverpool fans.
We don’t want to tempt fate.
