It’s been a tough few months for Ousmane Dembele.
The French forward joined Barcelona for an eye-watering £96.8 million from Borussia Dortmund back in August – but was sidelined with a hamstring injury by mid-September, in only his third outing for the Catalan giants.
Not a great way to start life at your new club, eh?
But after waiting 110 days, he’s BACK.
The second-most expensive footballer of all time came on as a 72nd substitute for Barca in their Copa del Rey clash against Celta Vigo this evening.
The former Rennes man looked understandably jittery upon his return, but had a decent chance at goal only minutes after coming on – forcing Celta goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez to pull off a brilliant save.
It looks like his good mate Kylian Mbappe was watching the match, and was over the moon to see him back.
The game finished 1-1, with Barca’s next game coming on Sunday against Levante in La Liga.
It’s hard to tell if the France international will start that match, as you’d probably expect him to be eased back into the side.
Still, hopefully he’ll get a decent run of games for the league leaders now.
