You’ve gotta admit, Jack Wilshere has been pretty decent in recent weeks.
The Arsenal midfielder has gradually worked his way back into Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up, after years of injury problems and a season-long loan at Bournemouth last season.
Having recovered from the injury that cut-short his campaign with the Cherries, Wilshere has been a regular in Arsenal’s cup and European games this season, and has even started to work his way back into contention for Premier League games.
In fact, he’s played 90 minutes in their last six league matches, and even scored a cracker in their 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday.
And after the game, the 26-year-old revealed the secret behind his recent rise in fitness – and it’ll go down very well with all of you foodies and hipsters out there.
He said: “I’ve been dairy and gluten-free now for six weeks.
“My kids since birth have been dairy and gluten-free.
“The few times I’ve had dairy in the hotel I’ve had an upset stomach.
“But I just cut it out completely and I think I look better.
“I’ve certainly lost a little bit of weight – I’m leaner and probably a little bit fitter as well.
“I feel I can last longer – at the end [against Chelsea] when we scored the second goal I thought: ‘Come on, we can go again.’ I felt good.”
