It is pretty obvious when a player is too good for the Championship.
Well Wolves have a whole squad that look way too strong for anyone to get near them this season.
They signed Portuguese international Ruben Neves for a league record £16m in the summer and he has shown that his level is so much higher than the English second division.
When a player arrives with a huge price tag from a foreign league it can often hinder them as they contend with the weight of expectation.
Not for Neves, no way.
Wolves walloped Brentford 3-0 in the Championship last night to extend their lead at the top of the league to 12-points.
Neves opened the scoring with a free kick that would not have looked out of place if David Beckham had been the one standing over it.
How about that then?
The combination of curl and pace left the keepr no chance as Neves delivered the pin point dead ball into the top corner.
Take a bow.
Think about it Wolves have a Portuguese international and one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe playing for them in the Championship.
Now it looks like they have also beaten Real Madrid to the signing of Valencia’s Rafa Mir – a very highly rated young striker.
The connection? Jorge Mendes of course.
