There is truly hope for us all, if this Bournemouth goal is anything to go by.
Trailling 2-1 away at Brighton and not looking all that likely to score an equaliser, you sometimes need a touch from the sweet hand of Lady Luck.
Which is what the Cherries got in abundance in the events leading to their second goal against the Seagulls.
Check out the goal in the video clip below.
Now let’s break it down a little bit for you to enjoy/despair over it in all it’s full glory.
1 First, no-one actually connects with a header when the ball comes in from the corner
2 A weak attempt at an overhead kick is blocked, seemingly by a hand of a Brighton player in the melee. No penalty called.
3 Charlie Daniels has a shot blocked, meanwhile Glenn Murray continues to lie on the floor with an injury
4 Daniels’ shot goes about 50 feet in the air. Will anyone take charge and head it clear? Of course not
5 Brighton have another chance to clear it, but instead hammer it straight at Adam Smith
6 Brighton try to clear it again. Again smash it at Smith.
7 The ball ricochets off Smith and cannons through to Callum Wilson, who tries to control it…
8 …but instead pokes it past Brighton keeper Matt Ryan.
An absolute shambles, but they all count. Also, has anyone checked that Glenn Murray is OK?
