Remember who pays your wages, Ruben.
Chelsea fans have been left fuming after Ruben Loftus-Cheek said he’d choose Steven Gerrard over Blues legend Frank Lampard in his all-time XI.
The on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder opted for the Liverpool icon over Lamps or Paul Scholes in the age-old debate.
Blues supporters responded on Twitter by urging the club to sell him for his “shocking and vile” comments, albeit tongue-in-cheek.
Loftus-Cheek claimed: “I think I’m going to say Gerrard, because he could do everything.
“Obviously Lampard was top at what he did, and what he did was score goals, and no other midfielder can do that like Lamps.
“But the way Gerrard leads as well, I’d say Gerrard.”
Two-cap England international Loftus-Cheek has been a part of Chelsea since 2004 having joined the ranks as an eight-year-old.
He’s since worked his way into first-team contention, making 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, but is away on loan at the Eagles this season.
Here’s what Twitter had to say on Loftus-Cheek’s opinion…
Earlier this week, Real Madrid star Toni Kroos chose fellow passmaster Scholes when asked the same question on Twitter.
