Marco Asensio could reportedly be axed by Real Madrid in order to make room for Neymar.
CalcioMercato claims the young ace has become unsettled following rumours of a Bernabeu move for Neymar next summer.
The duo both play in the same position on the left of an attacking front three.
And Asensio apparently believes he’s not going to get the chance to prove himself in his favoured role should a deal go through.
It’s been said that Neymar could quit Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain after becoming unhappy in the French capital.
The Brazilian joined them from Barcelona six months ago for a world-record £195million fee.
But Neymar could now be set to make a stunning return to Spain with Barca’s fiercest rivals.
The report adds that the Real board are quickly losing faith in Asensio.
It’s reckoned he’s failing to build on some impressive performances at the start of his Los Blancos career.
And the rumour also says that fellow playmaker Isco could be set for a stint on the sidelines as a result of Neymar’s proposed switch.
