Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Take the Jonas Brothers, Paul McCartney and FIFA for example. Three people that shouldn’t be in the same sentence, we’re sure you’ll agree.
But Kevin Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers (obviously) was called to the U.S. Federal Court in Brooklyn to testify in the ongoing FIFA corruption scandal.
So how did Kevin come to find himself in court talking about FIFA?
It was all to do with a McCartney show at River Plate’s Buenos Aires stadium in 2010.
Prosecutors were trying to establish whether a Paraguayan official named Juan Angel Napout was in attendance that night.
Big Kev was in town as the Jonas Brothers had a concert in the same stadium days two days later.
With Napout’s lawyers refusing to accept that the concert had even taken place, Jonas was called in to say, err… it had.
It’s a pretty ballsy move trying to pretend that a concert never took place.
The defence lawyers would have been better off bringing forward a philosopher to argue that we’re not really here, and the world is all a false existence.
Sorry, that’s a bit deep for a Friday. Back to pretending to work you go.
