It’s very rare we dedicate any our of our time to anything other than football.
But for Peaky Blinders, we’re happy to make an exception.
The BBC’s drama about Birmingham gangsters just after the first World War is a genuinely tremendous watch so imagine our delight when we noticed a reference to Jamie Vardy in this week’s episode.
A horse named ‘Vardy’s Party’ appeared on a betting board in the background of one scene…
Eagle-eyed viewers also noticed that the horse was priced at 5000/1 — the same odds Leicester overcame to win the Premier League in 2015/16.
Vardy top scored for the Foxes with 24 league goals as Claudio Ranieri masterminded the most miraculous title win in English football history.
Perhaps somebody on the Peaky Blinders team is a Leicester fan?
Whatever the case, it’s a thumbs up from us.
Now if somebody could get a reference to Tony Yeboah’s volley against Liverpool into the next season of Game of Thrones that would be truly appreciated.
