Manchester City are fortunate enough to be guaranteed a place in the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners, no matter how badly they do against Shakhtar tonight.
So if Ederson is going to choose a game to make a mistake in, it might as well be this one.
But Shakhtar are desperate for the win tonight, with the Ukrainian side competing with Napoli for the runners-up spot in Group F.
And things are looking good for them at half-time, as they lead Pep Guardiola’s boys 2-0.
Brazilian winger Bernard scored the opener with a lovely curler into the top-corner of Ederson’s goal.
There was nothing City’s No 1 could do about that one.
But he was very much at fault for the second goal, charging out of his box to challenge for the loose ball – and completely missing it.
Ismaily was then able to tap the ball into the open net from 16 yards.
There was definitely shades of Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo there from the goalie.
Check this out.
City have been pretty invincible this season, so Guardiola will be mildly concerned to see his goalkeeper giving him a slight headache between the sticks.
Last season, Bravo was a consistent liability in goal – making numerous errors, notably against Barcelona in the Champions League and in the 4-0 loss to Everton – and was eventually dropped by the manager.
Let’s not go back to that, eh?
