MAURO ICARDI is reportedly set to undergo a Real Madrid medical ahead of his £70million switch from Inter Milan.
The Mirror claims Icardi has emerged as Zinedine Zidane’s top attacking target ahead of RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.
And a big-money move looks set to be pushed through in January once Icardi completes all his tests later this month.
Real have struggled for goals this season and many believe they are suffering after losing attacking talents such as Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez in the last transfer window.
Icardi has found the back of the net 16 times in just 15 Serie A games this season and could thrive alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
It means Werner will miss out on his dream move to the Bernabeu, with earlier reports claiming the Real hierarchy were concerned about problems with his ears.
The report adds that Los Blancos would also like to add a goalkeeper to their ranks, with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois believed to be their top target.
SunSport understands that the Blues don’t want to sell to Real and would rather lose the ace for free when his contract expires in 2019.
But new reports claim Courtois doesn’t want to pen a new Stamford Bridge deal and could move to the Spanish capital sooner rather than later.
