According to Goal, PSG star Lucas Moura has snubbed interest from the likes of Chelsea to agree a move to the Chinese Super League instead.
The Brazilian winger has reached an agreement in principle with Beijing Guoan, potentially joining international compatriot Renato Augusto in the Chinese capital.
And Augusto’s success has created a blueprint for Brazilians out in China.
Lucas will be hoping the move enhances his chances of making Brazil’s World Cup squad – as Augusto and Paulinho have managed in China before him.
And you never know, given Paulinho’s slightly bizarre career path, he might end up at Barcelona in two years time.
Lucas has played less than 90 minutes of competitive football at PSG this season and will see the move as a fresh start.
He has reportedly been in contact with former team-mates Augusto and Ezequiel Lavezzi, who have encouraged him about China’s offerings.
The biggest obstacle, however, may be the fee itself with the CFA (Chinese Football Association) desperately trying to bring down transfer sums after years of soaring numbers.
