Admit it, you thought you’d seen the last of Sven Goran Eriksson at a World Cup didn’t you?
Well how about this – the former England boss has thrown his hat in the ring for the vacant Australian national team role.
According to News Corp, the ex-Napoli boss is reportedly keen to take on the job ahead of next year’s World Cup.
When asked if he’s interested, Eriksson said: “Yes, of course I’m interested.”
The Australian national team are reeling after coach Ange Postecoglou quit the role last month, having become the first Australian to successfully lead his country to the World Cup.
Aside from Eriksson, Jurgen Klinsmann, Marcelo Bielsa and Gianni De Biasi have been linked to the role.
But come on, we’d all love to see old Sven at a World Cup again, right?
