Liverpool are considering a £53.5million move for Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins, according to reports.
Portuguese news outlet A Bola claim the Reds have identified the 22-year-old as a top target.
Mo Salah has been tipped to join Real Madrid next season following his blistering start to the campaign.
The rapid Egyptian is top scorer in the Premier League with 12 goals, his double against Stoke last night seeing him go clear of Harry Kane.
Portugal international Martins already has five goals in all competitions this season and plays with a similar style to Salah.
Reports claim Liverpool were put off by his £53.5m buyout clause in the summer but may now reconsider.
Juventus are also said to have joined them in the race for his signature after playing against Martins’ Sporting in the Champions League last month.
Salah came off the bench last night at the bet365 Stadium to score twice and see Liverpool comfortably take three points.
Jurgen Klopp was relieved his star man got them over the line once again.
He said: “Thank God for Salah! It was a hard work but that’s no surprise at Stoke. But two fantastic goals and brilliant play especially for the second goal.”
But Klopp was keen to keep Salah grounded after he scored in the 1-1 draw against former club Chelsea.
He said: “No-one is unplayable.
“But he is really good so that’s good for us.
“Especially now for us he had a fantastic game against Chelsea.
“It was really difficult to defend him.”
